I've made some progress with the cushion. I was hoping to have the embroidery finished by the end of Friday, but I don't think I will, partly because my back's too sore to do more than about four hours in one go, and in the evenings I'm too tired to work at a fast enough pace.

Its easy to understand how embroiderers eyesight would have been badly affected when they had to work in candle or gas light.

The Mary Dress took a visit to St.Mary in the Marsh with me yesterday, and it was a relief to see that it looked quite at home there. The placing of the piece was discussed with the other two artists showing there, Nicholette Goff and Sara Wicks, and I think we all came away feeling happy about how all the art would work together.
