the Mary cushion in detail

I didn't take any close ups of the cushion and bag the first weekend of the exhibition. But I did remember eventually.

I filled the bag with freshly cut lavender, mainly for the sake of giving it a 'purpose'. I was surprised at how many people noticed the smell, although nobody identified the source independently.
The designs on the cushion were from places around the church itself. The medieval encaustic tiles near the font, the eighteenth century painted wall panel, and the modern textile hanging from the lectern.
